Recently, the newly constructed Waidongpu Pedestrian Bridge, led by the Construction Bureau of Huangyan District, has been nearly completed. Known as the “Ruyi Bridge” for its distinctive design, the bridge has quickly become a popular attraction in Huangyan, drawing many residents for walks and leisure activities.
Inspired by the concept of a “pearl on the Yongning River” and designed to resemble a “jade necklace,” the bridge incorporates the graceful, flowing form of ancient jade Ruyi artifacts.
The Ruyi Bridge spans the Yongning River, stretching approximately 386 meters in length and with a main bridge width ranging from 3 to 20 meters, divided into five sections with individual spans of around 70 meters. As a key part of the ecological enhancement project along the lower Yongning River, the Ruyi Bridge links the city’s best scenic assets, including rivers, urban landscapes, and parks. This bridge also serves as a foundation for establishing a fully integrated riverside core area in Huangyan.
