In recent years, Xiuling Village has capitalized on its mountainous terrain to develop an osmanthus industry that boosts farmers' incomes, with over 150,000 osmanthus trees planted across the village. This week, more than 2,000 mu (approximately 133 hectares )of osmanthus trees in Xiuling Village, Yuanqiao Town, Huangyan District, are in full bloom. On the morning of October 9, Li Zhenglian, head of the Xiuling Osmanthus and Seedling Cooperative, led the harvest of fresh osmanthus flowers. These blossoms, pre-ordered by local buyers, are destined for use in various food products, fueling a thriving "osmanthus economy."
Several food companies make annual purchases from this village to produce osmanthus-flavored foods, which are highly popular in the market.
