August 10 marked Qixi Festival, and local reporters visited multiple flower shops and stores, observing the consumer excitement sparked by the "romantic economy."
Flowers remain one of the most popular gifts for Qixi, with high demand again this year. At a downtown flower shop, a large selection of blooms prepared specifically for Qixi arrived two to three days early, with staff busy trimming and arranging them in advance. Due to the high volume of orders, this shop primarily accepted pre-orders to manage demand.
This year, the price of roses saw minimal increase compared to previous years. High-quality domestic roses sold for around 12-15 RMB (approximately $1.7-$2.1) per stem, while standard-quality roses were priced between 8-10RMB (approximately $1.1-$1.4) per stem.
At Huangyan Wuyue Plaza, the mall embraced the Qixi theme with festive decorations. Many stores participated by offering special promotions, including prize draws for minimum purchases, complimentary movie tickets, and free ice cream, enhancing the holiday shopping experience.
