On March 9, the 2025 Huangyan Nine Peaks Grandmaster Challenge kicked off at Jiufeng Mountain. Over 900 runners nationwide competed, with Guizhou natives Meng Guangfu and Yao Miao claiming men's and women's titles while setting new event records.

The 7:30 a.m. start saw athletes traverse rugged trails under live broadcast coverage. The 30km course featured 2,079m elevation gain, starting from Jiufeng Scenic Area through Yaoshan Village, Changle Temple, and Tangjiaao before returning to the finish line.

This year's race introduced stricter standards: 6h50m closing time (fastest ever), 40% steep slopes/rocky descents. "Our trail has become China's benchmark for extreme challenges," stated Xue Yingchun, Tsaigu founder.

Meng Guangfu smashed his own record with 2:35:16, while 24-year-old Yao Miao dominated women's category with 3:03:39 - nine minutes faster than her previous best. "The local support and scenery were amazing!" exclaimed the champion.

The event boasted comprehensive logistics: 5 medical stations, 2 ambulances, 25 service vehicles, 100+ medical staff, 402 volunteers. By 2:50pm closing, 92.5% completed the race.

Beyond athletics, the event served cultural exchange. Huangyan District has strategically used sports to enhance urban profile through events like 2024 Taizhou Marathon and Zhejiang Village BA Championship, proving sports can illuminate urban development and community spirit.
