On June 14, the "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day" event of Huangyan’s ZUI Huangyan (Local ICH Promotion Campaign) unfolded at Wudong Bridge. Folk acrobatics kicked off the feast—jar balancers, fire breathers, and face-changing artists switched masks in an instant, while a zhongfan performer dynamically twirled a giant flag. The jar balancing act amazed crowds as an artisan spun a ceramic jar on his forehead to the rhythm of drums.
In the old trades bazaar, jar mender Huang Shuntong mended cracked jars, reviving nostalgic memories. "Youngsters rarely see this—it reminds me of my father," said 77-year-old Lin Xiujuan.
The "ICH Stays Youthful – Medical Carnival" merged tradition with modern medicine. Thirty-four medical booths specializing in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), rehabilitation, and medical cosmetology offered immersive experiences.
At the pediatric tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage for children) booth, doctors explained its benefits for children’s respiratory issues. Taizhou First People’s Hospital added interactive projects: neurology tangram games, anesthesiology suturing simulators, and BMI tests that turned medical knowledge into fun.
This "tradition + modernity" event not only revitalized intangible cultural heritage but also planted cultural roots in young hearts, perfectly embodying the theme "ICH Stays Youthful".
