Recently, Huangyan District's peaches entered the harvest season, becoming summer market favorites.
In Xishang Village's "Huaguoshan" base, "Zhongpan No.11" flat peaches hang plumply. Grower Xu Guangyue, busy harvesting golden fruits with red surfaces, says, "Over 20 boxes sent this morning—mostly repeat orders." Introduced from the Chinese Academy of Sciences 6 years ago, their large size, sweet golden flesh, and storability make them popular.
On terraced sandy loam, Xu uses organic fertilizers and high-potassium compounds, ensuring crispy, high-sugar peaches. With 20 years in planting, she manages 200 mu of orchards (5 varieties), picking from mid-June to August. This year’s ideal climate boosts yields by 1/3, with mu profits reaching 10,000 yuan.
Led by Xu, Xishang Village extends the peach industry chain, with 500 mu planted by 30+ farmers (1,500kg/mu). Plans include deep-processing peach gum and integrating Huayan Mountain Scenic Area to drive rural tourism.
Huangyan’s total peach planting covers 2,840 mu, yielding 3,262 tons this year. Flat peaches, honey peaches, and yellow peaches are all in season—head to the orchards for summer’s sweetest pick!
