Huangyan’s July Stage: A Month of Spectacular Shows

From July 15 to 19, the National Private Art Troupe Exchange & Exhibition will take center stage in Huangyan. The event features sections such as "Signature Plays" showcases, classic opera specials, seminars on "High-Quality Development of Private Troupes," and opera-themed "Wonder Fairs"—all offering a continuous feast of performances!

The lineup includes 10 classic plays and 30 outstanding private troupes nationwide, staging 11 performances. Highlights range from traditional masterpieces like Yu Opera Cheng Ying Rescues the Orphan, to original gems like Pingju Opera A Mother’s Love, and rare local genres.

Performances will unfold at three iconic cultural-tourism venues: Wudong Bridge Park, Jiufeng Park, and Huangyan Grottoes. On the evenings of July 16–17, "Opera Wonder Fairs" will launch simultaneously at Wudong Bridge and Jiufeng Park, blending food, cultural creatives, and intangible heritage for an immersive experience.

Public welfare initiatives abound: live broadcasts on platforms like Wenyi China and Zhejiang Travel; public tickets for July 15–16 classic opera specials at Jiufeng Ancient Residence (via official channels); and free "Signature Plays" at all three venues from July 16–18.

The classic specials will merge ancient-residence settings with holographic projections, showcasing stunts like Qin Opera fire-spitting, Jin Opera colored stilts, famous excerpts, and performances by Plum Blossom Award winner Bao Chenre.

This event will boost exchanges between Huangyan and national troupes, fueling artistic innovation. Huangyan has been cultivating its "Huangyan Has Plays" brand, introducing over 40 high-end productions and nurturing folk arts—all to drive high-quality development of cultural undertakings.
