Recently, Taizhou pioneered the use of drone technology to clean the exterior walls of the Taizhou Talent Building, marking a milestone in practical applications of drone technology by Zhejiang Jiaolv Low-Altitude Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Taizhou Huangyan Transportation and Tourism Investment Group Co., Ltd. This initiative revitalizes Huangyan's low-altitude economy.

On September 2, technicians connected water hoses, secured tethering cables, and loaded eco-friendly cleaning agents, while drone operators calibrated parameters and plotted flight paths to initiate the cleaning operation. According to the Taizhou Low-Altitude Operations Management Center, this innovation revolutionizes traditional high-rise cleaning methods, injecting fresh momentum into smart urban development.

Manual wall cleaning used to be a perilous "high-altitude gamble": workers dangling hundreds of meters above ground relied solely on safety ropes, risking accidents, inefficiency, and environmental waste. In contrast, drones achieve 500 m?/hour—five times the efficiency of human workers. For a 10,000 m? building, two drones complete the task in 18 hours, while six workers would need five days. Drones also conserve over 60% water, employ non-irritating agents with zero environmental impact, and minimize fall risks, delivering "high efficiency + water conservation + safety + sustainability." Their flexible tethering systems adapt to diverse architectural structures, cushion impacts, conform to irregular surfaces, and offer material-specific cleaning modes.

Beyond skyscrapers, drones are poised for urban landmark upkeep, industrial equipment decontamination, heritage preservation, and emergency public facility maintenance. This initiative not only sets a precedent for urban infrastructure maintenance but also expands drone applications. Moving forward, Huangyan Communications & Tourism Group will deepen "low-altitude +" integration, bridging emerging technologies with traditional sectors to drive sustainable growth of Huangyan's low-altitude industry ecosystem.
