On the evening of September 26, the opening ceremony of the 2nd Shanghai International Light Festival’s Yangtze River Delta-Huangyan Linkage Demonstration Zone was held at Huangyan Grottoes. Attendees included Ye Haiyan, Chairperson of the Taizhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Chen Jianxun, Vice Chairperson of the Taizhou CPPCC; Xu Lihui, Secretary of the Huangyan District Party Committee and District Mayor; Jiang Weifeng, Director of the Shanghai Urban Landscape Affairs Center; and other leaders of the district's four major leadership bodies, including Wang Yuejun and Wang Hui. Xu Lihui and Jiang Weifeng delivered speeches.

Xu Lihui pointed out that profound culture requires expression in the context of the times. In recent years, Huangyan has promoted cultural inheritance and explored the integration of "culture + technology" to inject vitality into it. Huangyan Grottoes is a witness to Huangyan's history and a participant in its transformation. This time, with the theme of "Trace of Light on Stone", Huangyan has created China's first Grotto Immersive Light Art Week. Through light and shadow, the grottoes have been elevated from a geological wonder to a cultural entity. This is not only a visual feast and a dialogue between the ancient and the modern, but also an innovative practice of the Yongning River's nighttime economy. In the future, Huangyan will continue to inherit culture through innovation and empower the city with culture.

Jiang Weifeng stated that this linkage is a major practice of inter-city and inter-industry cooperation in organizing light culture events. With "Trace of Light on Stone" as the theme, Huangyan has taken grottoes and country parks as stages and planned three major light shows and other activities. Using light as a medium, it showcases Huangyan's natural beauty and cultural heritage. This is an encounter between light and shadow and ecology, as well as a practice of integrating ecological art. He wished the event a complete success.
