On the evening of September 30, the opening ceremony of the New Huangyan District Cultural Center was held in its on-site theater. Xu Lihui, Secretary of the CPC Huangyan District Committee and Huangyan District Mayor, attended and delivered a speech; other attendees included Wang Hui, Chairman of the District CPPCC, and Chen Bo, Deputy Director of Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Tourism and Sports (along with other district leaders).

Xu Lihui stated that the new cultural center marks a new step in the development of Huangyan’s modern public cultural service system, and is of great significance for improving urban functions, inheriting cultural heritage (cultural context), and meeting the people’s spiritual needs. He emphasized the need to promote benefit-the-people cultural programs, explore and pass on Song Yun (Song-style) celadon and intangible cultural heritage (ICH) techniques, and explore new operation and management approaches to boost cultural prosperity.

On the same evening, performances integrating Huangyan’s ICH and traditional culture were staged. Meanwhile, The Charm of Sketch: Jiang Wenbing's Art Works (the official English name of the exhibition) opened simultaneously in the exhibition hall on the first floor—running until October 31, it showcases Jiang’s sketches, traditional Chinese paintings, and other works. With the tenet of "A Venue for the People", the new center is a cultural landmark blending tradition and fashion. It has functional zones for exhibitions, theater, training, and archives, and is equipped with facilities like a grand theater and exhibition halls to support mass cultural activities.

To celebrate the opening, a one-week benefit-the-people activity themed "Drama in HuangYan, Vibe in Life" was launched. It includes over 20 performances (such as folk music, Yue opera, the stage play Virtuous Prime Minister Du Fan, and Taizhou Luantan—a local opera genre), as well as hands-on experiences like Maigutou (a local savory pancake that puffs up like a drum when pan-fried) making and wool weaving.

The new center offers digital venue reservation, is open free of charge, has added baking and handcraft classrooms, and provides extended-hours service. In the future, it will continue to optimize content supply and service models to build a shared "urban cultural living room" for citizens.
